MEDICAL LABORATORY COUNCIL INDUCTS JABU GRADUATES, UNIVERSITY UNVEILS EXPANSION PLANS
The Medical Laboratory Science Council of Nigeria has inducted new graduates from the Joseph Ayo Babalola University (JABU), Ikeji-Arakeji, as the institution announced plans to expand its infrastructure for improved training in medical sciences.
The induction and oath-taking ceremony, held at the Oba Olashore Auditorium, marked a major milestone for the institution’s College of Health Sciences.
Vice Chancellor, Prof. Olasebikan Fakolujo, said the university has commenced the construction of a new purpose-built complex to house the Department of Medical Laboratory Science. The facility, he noted, will include advanced laboratories, lecture halls, and administrative offices designed to enhance teaching, learning, and research.
He congratulated the inductees and commended the faculty for their dedication to excellence and ethics, urging the new professionals to be worthy ambassadors of the university.
“Let your professionalism reflect the moral and spiritual foundation instilled in you here,” Fakolujo said.
The Dean, College of Health Sciences, Prof. Adio Folayan, praised the university’s leadership for investing in infrastructure and staff development, describing the college as an emerging centre of excellence in health education.
Also speaking, Dr. Roland Bejide, Head of the Medical Laboratory Science Department, announced a 100 percent success rate for the graduates in their professional examinations, attributing the achievement to the commitment of the academic team.
Represented by an official, the Registrar/CEO of the Medical Laboratory Science Council of Nigeria, Dr. Donald Ofili, administered the induction oath and charged the new scientists to uphold the ethics of their profession.
Highlight of the event was the recognition of Blessing Temitope Agboola as the overall best graduating student with a CGPA of 4.93.
The ceremony also featured goodwill messages from stakeholders, including the Osun State Chairman of the Association of Medical Laboratory Scientists of Nigeria, **Mr. Teslim Olalekan**, who urged the graduates to remain diligent and uphold the integr
ity of the profession.
