In a bid to build an effective and strengthening the educational system in Nigeria, no fewer than 600 pupils in Akure South and 750 pupils in Akure North have benefited from the distribution of school materials by the Akinrinlola Olokunboro Foundation.

The foundation visited several primary schools across Akure, Ogbese, Iju, and Itaogbolu, distributing exercise books and other learning materials to enhance effective learning and reduce the burden on parents.

Speaking during the exercise at St. James Primary School, Oda, the Head Teacher, Mrs. Temilade Grace Akinfe, commended the foundation for its bold step in addressing educational challenges and promoting quality learning.

“It’s a great opportunity for parents and children as it reduces their burden and strengthens children’s interest in education,” she said.

At St. Williams RCM Primary School, Oda, Mrs. Ogunleye Oluremi also praised the initiative, stressing that education is the bedrock of national greatness.

“Children are the future leaders of the nation; it is imperative to provide them with the right platform for quality learning. The foundation has already laid a path of greatness in their lives and attracted interest in education,” she added.

Earlier, the Project Manager of the foundation, Barr. Oluwatoba Olaifa, explained that the initiative was in line with the foundation’s policy of advancing education in Nigeria.

According to her, many children in the visited schools struggle to access quality education due to lack of basic learning materials.

“We saw the need to address challenges hindering children from accessing quality education and to ease the economic burdens on parents. Education must never be treated with levity, as it is the foundation of knowledge and skills for future leaders,” she stated.

The distribution exercise also reached St. Finbarr’s Primary School and several other schools across Akure and its environs, with the foundation pledging to sustain its educational support programs in partnership with schools.
