VICOSA 85 SET GEARS UP FOR GRAND 40TH ANNIVERSARY CELEBRATION THIS NOVEMBER..
As the Class of 1985 from the Victory College, Ikare-Akoko (VICOSA 85 Set) prepares to mark its remarkable 40th anniversary, the Local Organising Committee (LOC) has officially announced a three-day lineup of commemorative events scheduled for Thursday, November 6 to Saturday, November 8, 2025.
In a statement signed by the Head of the LOC, Mrs. Funke Adedoyin-Thompson, the milestone celebration is not only a time to reflect on the journey that began four decades ago but also an opportunity to give back to their beloved alma mater. The group had, three years ago, embarked on the renovation of six classroom blocks, a project that is now nearing completion and set to be finalized ahead of the anniversary.
To ensure seamless planning and execution, the LOC has constituted eight key sub-committees, each tasked with specific roles ranging from publicity, finance, and logistics to accommodation, food, and project oversight. The names of committee members and heads have been duly released to guide the responsibilities and execution of the anniversary plans.
Special highlights of the celebration will include awards for outstanding students and teachers, a reunion banquet, and the commissioning of the refurbished classroom blocks. A communique team chaired by Wole Falusi will also compile and release key resolutions from the event.
With preparations in full swing, the LOC is calling on all committee heads to provide timely feedback and execute their assignments diligently. “As we give back, may our labour of love yield lasting impact,” Mrs. Adedoyin-Thompson noted.
