In a dramatic address to the nation, President Donald Trump confirmed that the United States had carried out coordinated military strikes on three nuclear facilities in Iran, describing the operation as a “necessary and measured response” to what he called “escalating threats” from the Iranian regime.

Speaking from the White House, the President said the targeted strikes aimed at Iran’s nuclear infrastructure were designed to “prevent further development of weapons of mass destruction,” stressing that the action was not the beginning of a war but a firm message that the U.S. would not tolerate nuclear aggression. “The United States seeks peace, not conflict,” Trump declared. “But we will never allow a hostile regime to threaten the safety of our people or our allies.”

According to Pentagon officials, the strikes focused on Natanz, Fordo, and Isfahan — sites long suspected of housing Iran’s most sensitive nuclear activities. The operation was reportedly carried out with precision-guided munitions and involved U.S. bombers flying from bases in the region. No U.S. casualties were reported, and early intelligence suggested limited collateral damage on the ground.

Reactions poured in from around the globe within hours of the announcement. The Iranian government condemned the attacks, calling them an “unprovoked act of war” and vowing retaliation. Iranian state media broadcast images of emergency services at affected sites and declared a state of high alert nationwide. Meanwhile, leaders from the European Union and the United Nations urged restraint and called for an emergency meeting of the U.N. Security Council to de-escalate tensions.

Back home, lawmakers were divided along partisan lines. Republican leaders largely backed the President’s decision, citing the need to confront Iran’s nuclear ambitions. Democrats, however, criticized the move as reckless and questioned whether Congress had been adequately consulted. With the Middle East now on edge and global markets reacting nervously, analysts warned that the days ahead could shape the course of international relations for years to come.
