Tensions escalated dramatically on Thursday as a hospital in Beersheba, southern Israel, sustained damage during a wave of Iranian missile strikes, now entering the seventh day of ongoing hostilities between the two nations.

Iran claimed it was targeting a nearby military installation, not the Soroka Medical Centre which was impacted by the strike. Despite the stated objective, the missile caused disruption near the civilian facility, prompting widespread concern.

The Israeli Health Ministry confirmed that 271 people have been injured in various locations across the country since the onset of the latest attacks.

Following a visit to the affected hospital, Israel’s Defence Minister Israel Katz issued a stern warning, stating that Iran’s supreme leader “can no longer be allowed to exist,” marking one of the most direct threats against Tehran’s leadership to date.

The international community continues to monitor the situation with mounting concern as fears grow over the possibility of a broader regional conflict.
