As we observe the convergence of Ramadan and Easter fasting in 2025, a poignant question arises: Are Christians and Muslims serving the same God, or have Christian leaders abandoned their flock?

The synchrony of Ramadan and Easter fasting this year has brought to the fore a striking disparity in the way Muslim and Christian leaders respond to the needs of their faithful. While Muslim leaders have been generous in providing gifts, food, and money to their followers, their Christian counterparts seem to have turned a blind eye to the plight of their brothers and sisters.

This stark contrast has raised concerns among Nigerians, with many wondering if Christian leaders have abandoned their role as “brothers’ keepers.” The situation is further complicated by the fact that some Christian politicians have been seen breaking their fast with Muslim leaders, seemingly oblivious to the struggles of their fellow Christians.

At the heart of this issue lies a more profound question: Do Christians and Muslims worship the same God? While some argue that the two faiths share a common deity, others contend that the differences in their beliefs and practices are too significant to ignore.

As we grapple with these questions, we invite our readers to share their thoughts and perspectives. Are Christian leaders failing in their duty to care for their flock? Do Christians and Muslims worship the same God? Join the conversation and let your voice be heard.
